An important technique when beginning a healthy life style change is the small step approach. Make small changes to your nutrition program, NOT radical revisions.  For instance if you do not eat breakfast begin by adding a small breakfast to your diet. This has been proven in many studies to actually promote weight loss.

When beginning  your workout program start with 2 days per week of strength training with some cardio exercises two times per week.  Burn out is the leading cause of drop outs of any exercise program.  Don't over do it!
