The fundamental fact Blocks of Fun is based on is the more muscle tissue a person has the more calories they burn. Over weight children do not have many options to build muscle since most programs are based on cardio exercises which only burn additional calories while performing the exercise.

There are many studies that have proven strength training is a more efficient way to manage body weight. Unfortunately the main stream philosphy for training over weight children is cardio based exercises; ignoring what science tells us!  One reason this problem occurs is the lack of strength training options.  Blocks of Fun is the only practicle approach for young children to have an opportunity to lift weights, and is especially suited for a classroom envoirnment.
